Drawstring & Sports Bags — OEM manufacturing overview
A drawstring bag is the simplest construction in our range — two panels, a hem channel, a cord, and reinforced bottom corners — which makes it the fastest to sample and the cheapest per unit. That is precisely why it dominates promotional, event, team-kit, and giveaway orders: the low unit cost lets a brand put its logo in a lot of hands at once. Simple does not mean careless, though; the corner reinforcement where the cord meets the body is what separates a bag that survives a season from one that tears on first load.
Materials & construction
Polyester
The default. 210D for lightweight promotional runs, 600D where the bag needs to carry real weight and survive repeat use.
Nylon
Lighter and stronger than polyester at the same weight, with a softer drape — used where the bag packs down small.
Cotton Canvas
For a natural retail look. Heavier and slower to dry, but it takes screen printing beautifully and reads as a keepsake rather than a giveaway.
Non-woven
The lowest-cost option for very high-volume single-event giveaways. Not intended for repeat use.
Recycled rPET
Recycled polyester for sustainability-positioned promotional programs, available with GRS documentation.
Customization options
Because the bag itself is inexpensive, the branding method is usually the biggest line in the quote. Screen printing suits bold one- or two-color logos at volume; full sublimation lets you cover the whole panel and only makes economic sense on polyester. Decide which before comparing quotes, or the numbers will not be comparable.

Frequently asked questions
What is the MOQ for drawstring bags?
Sample MOQ is 1 piece; bulk MOQ starts at 200 pieces per design and colorway. Because unit cost is low, most orders in this category run well above the minimum.
Why is the lead time shorter than your other bags?
Fewer components and fewer sewing operations. There is no hardware to source and no lining to assemble, so production moves quickly once fabric and printing are confirmed.
Should I choose screen printing or sublimation?
Screen printing is more economical for simple one- or two-color logos. Sublimation prints edge-to-edge in full color but works only on polyester. For a photographic or multi-color design covering the whole panel, sublimation is usually the only practical option.
Can you reinforce the bag for heavier loads?
Yes — metal eyelets at the cord corners, a heavier fabric denier, and doubled bottom stitching are the three upgrades we recommend for bags that will carry shoes, balls, or gym kit rather than paperwork.
Can a drawstring bag have a zip pocket?
Yes, a front zip pocket or a mesh side pocket can be added. Each adds a sewing operation, so it moves the unit price, but both are common on sports and team-kit versions.
