Paper Woven Bags — OEM manufacturing overview
Paper braid gives you the look of natural straw with a lighter weight, a more uniform weave, and better color consistency — which is why it has become the default for brands that need a woven bag to look the same across a full production run. We weave paper rope and flat paper braid into totes, clutches, and structured top-handle shapes, using the same craft line as our paper-braid headwear.
Materials & construction
Paper Braid
Flat-braided kraft paper strands, coiled and stitched into shape. Gives a very even, repeatable surface and the lightest finished weight of any woven option.
Paper Rope
Twisted paper cord woven over a form for structured, more rigid bodies — holds a defined silhouette without an internal frame.
Recycled Paper Fiber
Post-consumer recycled kraft paper for brands positioning on sustainability, at a comparable cost to virgin paper braid.
Cotton Lining
Standard full lining; paper weave is not abrasion-tolerant on its inner face, so a lining is recommended for anything beyond decorative use.
Customization options
Paper braid can be dyed before weaving for solid colors, or alternated mid-weave for stripe and colorblock effects — a pattern option that is much harder to control in natural straw. Bamboo, acrylic, and metal handles are all standard.

Frequently asked questions
How does paper braid compare to natural straw?
Paper braid is lighter, more uniform in color and weave, and cheaper to match across a large run. Natural straw has more character and a coarser hand-feel. Brands wanting perfect batch-to-batch consistency generally choose paper.
Are paper woven bags durable enough for retail?
Yes for normal dry use — they are best suited to resort, event, and seasonal lines rather than daily heavy-carry. We recommend a lining and a water-repellent finish for anything sold as a year-round bag.
What happens if a paper bag gets wet?
Untreated paper braid will soften and can deform. An optional clear water-repellent finish substantially improves splash resistance, but paper woven bags are not intended for rain exposure.
What is the MOQ?
Sample MOQ is 1 piece; bulk MOQ starts at 200 pieces per style and colorway.
Can you weave a two-tone or striped pattern?
Yes — because the braid is dyed before weaving, stripes, colorblocks, and gradient effects are straightforward and add no meaningful cost.
